ABOUT ZAP

William Shakespeare is credited with coining the phrase "Let the World be your oyster." And it is with this in mind that ZAP was created.  Having taught for fifteen years, James Washington (the founder the Zephyrhills Ambassadors Program) knew that students struggled to understand  concepts and topics from times long ago and lands worlds away.  What needed to be done, was to open the classroom to the world.

In 1949, Albert Einstein stated that, "The education of the individual... [attempts] to develop in [people] a sense of responsibility for his fellow-men in place of the glorification of power and success in our present society. At the core of the Zephyrhills Ambassadors Program is the requirement that members become active members of the community.  Individuals need to step up and pitch in. And like Einstein states, this participation is not for personal or financial gain, but individual and community growth.  And over the past twenty-four months, ZAP has continued to promote this philosophy.

"Opening the Classroom to the World!"

ZAP'S PHILOSOPHY

The Zephyrhills Ambassadors Program promotes students' understanding of international affairs while building leadership skills among our students.  We will broaden their perspectives of the world and have them share their experiences with other schools and civic clubs in our area, all in an effort to create a more united community.
