In keeping with our Mission Statement and our philosophy to give back to the community and to prepare our students to be active community members, The Zephyrhills Ambassadors Program (ZAP) began the Back-To-School event in 2012.  With a struggling economy, an impoverished community, more than 70% of its students receiving free or reduced lunch, ZAP recognized a need.  With the help of our sponsors, ZAP distributed over 250 backpacks, filled with school supplies, to a variety of school-aged children.  The physicians and employees of Florida Hospital of Zephyrhills provided nearly the same number of school physicals, while EyeGlass World of Zephyrhills provided an equal number of vision screenings.  The event was also attended by more than thirty other community groups and organizations which provided families with back-to-school needs; booths ranged from: before and after care, youth banking accounts, blood donations, virtual school programs, and community activities.  In all, more than 600 people attended the event.



Held on the same day as secondary, underclassmen registration, this event attempts to make the registration process easier for families, attempting to provide as many services as possible in the hopes that families would be able to have all of their needs met.
